Femi Houghton was born to traditional Nigerian parents in London. He was fostered and loved from a very early age by Mr and Mrs Houghton, to whom he will be eternally indebted for their sacrifices.
After graduating with an HND in Applied Biology and BSc degree in Biotechnology from South Bank University, Femi discovered a passion for acting at a later stage. Subsequently he enrolled at Chelsea College, London, to study drama.
Following his graduation he went on to create Fabulae Theatre Company with fellow actors, creating a vehicle for mature students of drama to have greater control of their careers. “This ran successfully for several years”.
Continuing with his studies of Drama at the City Lit Academy and the Actors’ Centre, this allowed the development of a varied repertoire of theatre work at renowned venues such as the Notting Hill Gate Theatre, Chelsea Theatre and the Theatre Royal Stratford East.
As well as his stage, Corporate, Commercial and Film work, Femi has landed roles in prestigious TV productions such as the BBC’s BAFTA award winning series EastEnders, My Hero and Absolute Power. Other TV credits include Keen Eddie and Accidental Heroes. He has just finished shooting on the feature film Get Him The Greek for Universal Studios.
He sites his passion and dedication to his family, faith and friends who have allowed him to dream the impossible. While always keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
The only restrictions you have on life, are the ones you put on yourself.
